Agentic AI courses for leaders fall into two groups. Primers of 3 to 7 hours are cheap or free to audit but are usually built around one vendor’s tool and aimed at building an agent. Executive programmes from business schools cost from £1,700 to US$7,900, or ₹1 lakh to ₹1.6 lakh plus GST in India, and run from 4 days to 5 months on a cohort calendar. For a leadership team, the useful questions are: can everyone finish, is it vendor-neutral, does it teach value net of the checking people do, and does anyone practise the decisions before making them for real.

Check how value is measured
Many courses talk about hours saved. Ask whether a course teaches value net of the time people spend checking, fixing and supervising an agent, and its running cost, and whether it sets baselines, thresholds and stop rules before a pilot starts. Gartner predicts that over 40% of agentic AI projects will be cancelled by the end of 2027, so knowing when to stop matters as much as knowing where to start.
Check whether leaders practise the decisions
Executive programmes mostly teach with cases, frameworks and discussion; primers mostly teach building in one tool. If your leaders will fund, govern and set autonomy rather than build, look for practice in those decisions, where a weak choice shows its consequences before it happens for real.

Do leaders need to learn to build AI agents?
Not usually. Leaders decide where agents go, what they may do without a person, what oversight they need and whether a pilot is worth scaling. Some primers teach building custom GPTs; that helps with intuition but is not the same as governing a portfolio. People who will configure and supervise agents need a practitioner course.
Do agentic AI courses for executives cover the EU AI Act?
Some do, at varying depth, and many were recorded before the EU’s 2026 AI Omnibus amendment moved the high-risk dates (Annex III rules now apply from 2 December 2027). Check the course page for the dates it teaches. Bodhih’s course covers the Act at board level; it is not legal advice.
