Chore Champs and Pocket Money · Bodhih Pro Kits · 60 by Bodhih Training, trainers to 2,000+ companies since 2008.
Split jobs into unpaid team jobs and optional paid extras, choose age-right chores, teach each one in four steps, pay a small regular amount on a fixed day and divide it into Save, Spend and Give jars. The Chore Champs and Pocket Money kit from Bodhih Training gives you the parent guide, printable cards, charts, play money and a ledger to do exactly that.

You paid for the car wash once, and now the bin has a price. Without a clear line between helping and earning, children sensibly ask what everything is worth.
A blank chart is not a method. Without the right-sized job, proper teaching and a definition of done, the stickers stop and the nagging returns.
Money that arrives now and then, disappears on sweets by lunchtime, or gets docked in anger does not build any habit you want. Children need a reliable amount and a simple structure.
Taps, gems and one-click buttons hide the cost of things. Children who have never counted coins into a jar have nothing to compare a screen price with.
Different ages mean different jobs and amounts, and siblings notice. Unless the rule is written down and visible, every Saturday is a tribunal.
Imagine next Saturday morning. Your child counts ten coins into three jars without being asked: four to Save, five to Spend, one to Give. They colour another step on the thermometer stuck to the fridge and tell you, with some pride, that the kite is three weeks away.
As you print the chore cards for your child's age band this week, you will notice how small and clear each job is. A picture, three words and a one-line standard. When your child picks their own team jobs from the cards on the table, the chart on the wall stops being your list and becomes theirs.
When you fill in the family agreement together, the question of who does what, who gets what and when is settled on one signed page. The next time someone asks to be paid for clearing a plate, you can simply point at the extra jobs board and carry on with your tea.
And on a wet Sunday, when you open the shop on the kitchen table or play Market Day, you may find yourself enjoying it. Whether you start with the jars tonight or the chore cards tomorrow, you are building the same thing: a capable child who knows that effort matters and money is finite.
The e-book shows you how. The tools make it happen. Here is exactly what you download.
The guide: methods, worked examples, scripts and exercises
48 bright picture cards in four colour bands (ages 5 to 6, 7 to 8, 9 to 10 and 11 to 12), six per page. Each card has a one-line 'done' standard and one to three effort stars.
A weekly chart with team jobs and extra jobs, a whole-family team chart with grown-ups on it, a cut-out job-of-the-week wheel for rotating unpopular jobs and an extra jobs board with stars and pay.
Four jar labels with lid toppers and an 'our split' box, a ten-step savings goal thermometer, a 48-coin piggy bank tracker and a child's first money book page.
Generic play coins (1 to 50) and notes (5 to 100) that work in any country, blank money to fill in, 12 illustrated price tags, Open and Closed signs, shopping lists, receipts and a needs-or-wants sorting mat with script cards.
A 24-square money board game for 2 to 4 players with 12 market cards, fold-up counters, a paper spinner and rules: earn, save, give and be first to buy the kite.
Chore Champ and Super Saver certificates plus eight cut-out badges for real milestones such as a goal reached or a new skill learned.
All 48 chore cards as clean black outlines. Uses very little ink, and children can colour in their own set.
A fillable two-page agreement: team jobs, extra jobs and pay, the pocket money model, amount and day, the jar split, spending and device rules, gift money, review date and signatures for children, parents and other carers.
A fillable tracker for teaching any chore in four steps (I do, we do, you do while I watch, you do alone), with a three-point definition of done, a handover checklist and a one-job teaching plan.
A grown-up's ledger for up to eight children in any currency: money in and out with automatic Save, Spend and Give balances, savings goal progress with weeks to go, a chore stars-to-pay calculator, a what-if amount planner and a live dashboard.
One-page reference: what children can usually do at 5 to 6, 7 to 8, 9 to 10 and 11 to 12, how many jobs to give, which jobs suit paid extras and what stays a grown-up's job.
Allowance, paid jobs and hybrid side by side: how each works, what it teaches, the risks, who it suits, plus three questions for deciding the amount in any currency.
Word-for-word lines for the money moments that come up between 5 and 12: 'Can I have it?', pocket money day, a wasted purchase, sibling fairness, in-game spending, refusal and grandparents.
Fourteen short daily prompts for the grown-up, from sorting jobs into two buckets to the first family meeting, plus a one-month review. Imports into Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
Each chapter opens with a real situation, gives you a method and ends with something to do today, using the tools in your kit.
Why unpaid team jobs and optional paid extras must live in separate buckets, and what the research says about chores.
How to size jobs to your child with four age bands, how many to give and how to keep them safe.
The four-step handover trainers use, a three-point definition of done and standards without perfectionism.
Allowance, paid jobs or hybrid: how to choose, how to decide the amount and why you never dock the base.
Set up the jars, agree the split and start a child's first money book.
Turn a wish into a plan with cost, weekly saving and weeks to wait, sized to your child's age.
Teach needs and wants, prices and change through a pretend shop and the Market Day board game.
Bridge from coins to screens: taps, game currency, adverts and device settings.
Handle sibling comparisons and refusal with visible rules and a calm 'when, then'.
Keep one system working across two homes, grandparents and busy months.
Every outcome is practised with a worked example and a tool, not just described.
People who measure before and after improve faster and can show it. AssessAll, our sister assessment platform, has AI-graded assessments that pair with this kit. Take one now, work through the kit, then re-take it.
Children start out believing fair means identical. Your job is to replace that idea, patiently and repeatedly, with a better one: fair means everyone gets what fits their age, and everyone knows the rule. That only works if the rule is visible. So publish it. On the Family Pocket-Money Agreement, write how the base amount grows (for example, it rises on each birthday) and how jobs grow with it. Molly can see that at nine she will have what Ben has now, bins included. Ben can see that his extra coins come with extra work. The Family Team Chart shows every person's jobs in one place, adults too, which makes it much harder for anyone to claim that "I do everything around here".

Start with the quick-start chapter, then the main spreadsheet or planner. Most buyers use something from the kit the same day.
You can start with the chore cards this evening or the jars on Saturday morning; either way, the first step is small. Download the kit, print one page, and let your child show you what they can do.

Children aged 5 to 12. The chore cards come in four bands (5 to 6, 7 to 8, 9 to 10 and 11 to 12) and the guide explains how to adjust jobs, waiting times and money lessons for each age.
The guide recommends paying for some jobs, not all. Everyday team jobs stay unpaid because everyone who lives in the home helps. Optional extra jobs can be paid by effort stars. You will also find the allowance-only and paid-jobs-only models explained fairly, so you can choose what suits your family.
The kit does not prescribe a figure, because the right amount depends on your budget, your country and what the money must cover. Chapter 4 gives three questions for deciding, and the Amount planner sheet in the ledger lets you test different amounts and see the weekly split and yearly cost.
Yes. The play money uses generic 'coins' plus blank coins and notes to fill in, and the ledger treats amounts as plain numbers. Whether you use pounds, rupees, dollars, shillings, dirhams or pesos, nothing needs converting.
Yes. The Ink-Saver set has all 48 chore cards as black outlines for colouring in, and every other page has thick outlines that stay clear in greyscale. Appendix B has printing notes for A4 and US Letter.
Make jobs small and visible, let your child choose from the cards, teach each job in four steps and agree what 'done' means. When a job is refused, the guide gives you a calm four-part response built around a 'when, then' statement, and it shows how to write an if-then plan for yourself. The Jobulary article on if-then plans is a helpful companion if you want to turn this into a personal development plan.
If you would like an objective look at your own judgement, AssessAll offers scenario-based assessments that fit this kit well: Money Decision Judgment, Digital Parenting and Online Safety Judgment, and Family and Elder Caregiving Judgment. They are optional and separate from the kit.
No. The kit is educational and practical. It is not financial, medical or psychological advice, and Bodhih is a training company, not a clinic or financial adviser. If you are worried about your child's behaviour or development, please speak to a qualified professional, and check local rules for children's bank accounts and apps.
Yes. Chapter 8 covers taps, game currency, adverts and device settings in principle, and the family agreement includes an 'ask first' section. Because settings menus change often, the guide points you to each device maker's official support pages for current steps.
The personal licence covers your own family. Teachers, childminders and club leaders are welcome to use it with the children in their own group. For school-wide or organisation licences, write to solutions@bodhih.com.
