Quick answer

How do I plan what to do in retirement, beyond the money?

Plan the five changes retirement brings: identity, structure, status, relationships and purpose. Describe one ordinary good day, design a week that adds up, build a small portfolio of purpose projects, map your people, agree plans with your household, then rehearse before you leave. The Retirement Lifestyle Planner from Bodhih Training gives you the method and every tool.

Sound familiar?

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.

The money is planned, the week is not

You know roughly what you will have. You do not know what you will do at 10 on a Wednesday morning in February. That empty hour is where many retirements start to feel flat.

Work quietly gave you more than a salary

Structure, status, conversations and a reason to get up all arrive with a job. Most people only notice them when they stop, and then they are harder to replace.

Everyone wants a piece of your new free time

Family, charities and neighbours often see a retired person as available. Without a plan, other people's requests fill the diary.

Two people, one kitchen

If you share a home, retirement changes the rhythm for everyone in it. Unspoken assumptions about space, chores and time together cause friction fast.

Big decisions made on holiday feelings

Where to live, whether to phase, how much to travel: these are hard to reverse and easy to decide in a good mood on a sunny week.

Now imagine this

Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.

Imagine a Tuesday two years from now. You wake without an alarm and you know exactly what the morning is for. As you open the Ideal Week sheet tonight and type the hours, you start to see that week take shape.

When you sit down with your partner or family with the conversation form, you will notice how much easier it is to talk about space, chores and grandchildren when the questions are already written. You agree a plan for three months, write it down and set a review date.

Picture your first rehearsal week: no work email, your own plans, two trial activities booked. By Wednesday you learn something no spreadsheet could have told you, and you change the plan while there is still time.

Then your last day arrives. Whether you start with the good Tuesday tonight or the workbook at the weekend, the first 100 days are already sketched, the keepers are booked, and the week after work has a shape you chose.

A taste of Chapter 8

The Where Should We Live? Scorer workbook lets you compare up to five options across about twenty criteria, grouped as people, health, money, daily life, climate and setting, and practical and legal matters. You give each criterion a weight from 1 to 5 and score each option from 1 to 5. You can tick any criterion as a dealbreaker. The Results sheet shows a weighted score for each option, its rank, and a warning if an option fails a dealbreaker. A Costs sheet compares monthly costs side by side, and a Visit Log records each trial stay. The main workbook has a lighter Place Scorecard sheet for a first pass with eight criteria. Use that first; move to the Scorer when you have a shortlist.

Questions buyers ask

The Retirement Lifestyle Planner: FAQs

Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my link

Is this financial, legal or medical advice?

No. The kit is educational. It helps you plan the life side of retirement and prepare good questions. Pension ages, employment rights, wills, powers of attorney, tax and health decisions differ by country and person, so check official sources and speak to a qualified professional before acting.

How is this different from a retirement savings planner?

Savings planners answer whether you can afford to stop. This kit answers what you are stopping for: how you will spend your week, where purpose and company will come from, where to live and how to agree it with your household. A short spending check prices your lifestyle; for the full money method, see The Late Starter's Retirement Plan.

What should I do in the first year of retirement?

Keep the first ten days light, then trial a few purpose projects and one new social circle, review what works around day 40 to 70, and settle a weekly rhythm by day 100. The First 100 Days sheet and form set this out stage by stage.

How do I ask my employer for phased retirement?

Treat it as a proposal, not a favour: know the pattern you want, show how a phased exit helps with handover, ask HR in writing how it affects pension and benefits, and offer a trial with a review date. The kit includes scripts, a request letter and a decision card. Check your contract, company policy and local law.

Does it work outside the UK and US?

Yes. The method and tools work in any country and any currency. Examples come from India, Nigeria, Kenya, the UAE, the Philippines, Australia, the UK and the US, and an appendix gives dated country notes with official sources to check.

Can I use it if I have already retired?

Yes. Start with the five transitions and the time audit of your current week, then use the purpose, people and rehearsal tools to reshape it. The Annual Life Review works at any point.

Can my partner and I use it together?

Yes. The couples and family conversation form, the household agreement and the shared Where Should We Live? Scorer are designed for two or more people. The licence covers use within your own household.

How can I measure my starting point?

If you like a baseline, AssessAll's Plan Strength Assessment with an Eight-Week Re-Measure, Work Motivation and Trade-Off Assessment for Career Decisions, and Resilience and Stress Management are optional AssessAll assessments you can take now and retake after the 12-week plan to see what has moved.

How do I turn my focus areas into a development plan?

Take your three life wheel focus areas and run each through the WOOP method: wish, outcome, obstacle, plan. Jobulary's guide to setting goals with the WOOP method explains it in a few minutes, and it pairs well with the anchors in Chapter 3.

What if a file does not open?

The workbooks open in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice, the forms in any PDF reader that supports fillable fields, and the templates in Word or Google Docs. Digital kits are non-refundable once downloaded, except for a corrupted file not fixed within 3 working days, a duplicate charge or failed delivery. For any file problem, email solutions@bodhih.com.

How much does The Retirement Lifestyle Planner cost?

₹999 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $29 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.

How do I get the files after paying?

Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.

What software do I need?

Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.

Can I get a refund?

Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.

Can my company buy this for a team?

Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
