Quick answer

How do I organise my family's medical records?

Give each person one tab with the same six sections, put a dated emergency sheet for everyone at the front, copy clinicians' words and medicine labels exactly, keep a digital master with printed summaries, and update after every appointment. The Family Medical Records Binder kit from Bodhih Training gives you the forms, workbook and letters to do it.

Sound familiar?

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.

The questions always come at the worst moment

A nurse at midnight, a school form due Wednesday, a new specialist asking what was tried before. The answers are somewhere, in a text, a drawer or an old phone, and you end up saying 'I think' a lot.

Medicines lists quietly go out of date

Strengths change, a specialist stops something, a pharmacy switches brands. A list typed from memory slowly stops matching what was prescribed, and nobody notices until an appointment turns into detective work.

Records are scattered across a dozen places

GP, hospital, dentist, optician, pharmacy, insurer, school, three portals and a carrier bag of letters. Getting copies, chasing them and filing them feels like a second job.

Claims and requests stall without a log

Without dates and references, you cannot chase what is late. Money sits unpaid and records never arrive, simply because nobody followed up.

Now imagine this

Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.

Imagine the next time a clinician asks about allergies or medicines. You open the front pocket of the binder, or a photo on your phone, and read the answers off a dated page in the clinician's own words. As you hand it over, notice how different that feels from guessing.

Picture Saturday morning next month. The workbook Dashboard tells you one vaccination needs proof, one dental check is due in three weeks, and one insurance claim is ready to chase. You deal with all three before the kettle boils, because each one already has a date, a reference and the exact words to use.

When your sister asks what the cardiologist said last time, you send three lines from the Appointments sheet instead of scrolling through a month of messages. When a babysitter arrives, the carer sheet is already on the fridge. When you travel, the Travel Health Record is filled in the weekend before.

Whether you start tonight with the emergency sheets or on Saturday with the workbook, the first hour gives you something useful. Then the four-week plan walks you through the rest, one layer and one person at a time.

A taste of the Introduction

It is 11.40 on a Tuesday night and you are in a hospital corridor. The nurse is kind but busy. She asks three questions in a row. Is he allergic to anything? What does he take every day? When was his last tetanus jab? You know the answers are somewhere. One is in a text message from last spring. One is on a blister pack in a kitchen drawer forty minutes away. The third might be in a clinic letter that went into the recycling. You say "I think" a lot. You feel like you are failing a test nobody told you about. This book, and the kit that comes with it, is about fixing that once, calmly, and then keeping it fixed with very little effort.

Questions buyers ask

The Family Medical Records Binder: FAQs

Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my link

What should a family medical records binder include?

For each person: a dated emergency sheet, a health summary in clinicians' words, allergies with how sure you are, medicines copied exactly from labels, vaccinations with proof, routine checks, appointment notes, a test results index and insurance details. Add shared sections for family health history, travel and an archive.

Is this kit medical advice?

No. It is educational content and record-keeping tools, not medical, legal or financial advice. The binder records what clinicians said and prescribed; it never tells anyone what to take or whether to start or stop a medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist, and in an emergency call your local emergency number first.

How do I get a copy of my medical records?

Check the patient portal or national health app first. If the records are not there, write to the provider's records team saying who you are, exactly what you want, the format you prefer, and enclose identity documents. Log the date and chase on time. Response times differ by country; the kit's dated country notes tell you where to check.

Should I keep medical records on paper or digitally?

Usually both. Keep emergency information on paper and on the phone, keep the digital workbook as the master for summaries and history, and print summaries for the binder. The kit's decision card gives simple if-then rules for each layer.

Can I keep records for my elderly parent?

Yes, if they agree. Their records belong to them, so ask first and use the kit's consent note to record what can be kept and shared. Legal authority to make decisions for someone else, such as a power of attorney or health care proxy, is separate and differs by country: check the official source or a qualified professional.

Does it work outside the US and UK?

Yes. Settings let you choose your currency label and emergency number, nothing assumes one health system, and the country notes cover the UK, US, Canada, Australia, India, UAE, Singapore and Kenya, dated October 2026 for you to check.

What apps do I need?

Any spreadsheet app (Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice), a PDF reader that fills forms, a word processor such as Word or Google Docs, and a calendar app. The print pages work on A4 or US Letter.

How can I measure my starting point?

If you want to see your strengths before you begin, AssessAll's Personal Data Judgment, Attention to Detail and Error Checking, and Family and Elder Caregiving Judgment assessments give you a quick picture of the skills this kit relies on.

How do I make the update habit stick?

Use an if-then plan: 'If I get home from an appointment, then I open the workbook before I make a cup of tea.' To turn it into a wider development plan, read Jobulary's guide to if-then plans that make habits stick.

Can I share the files with my siblings?

Yes, within your household or family care group for the people whose records you keep. Please don't share or resell the files more widely. Team and company licences are available from solutions@bodhih.com.

How much does The Family Medical Records Binder cost?

₹799 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $24 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.

How do I get the files after paying?

Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.

What software do I need?

Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.

Can I get a refund?

Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.

Can my company buy this for a team?

Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
