How do I organise my baby's first year?
Give every recurring job one home: a shared log you stop when it's no longer needed, one appointment and vaccination record, a monthly check of milestones and safety, a rota with protected sleep for each adult, and dated lists for paperwork and money. The Baby's First Year System kit from Bodhih Training gives you each of those, ready to use.

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
Everything lives in your head
Appointment dates, the last feed, the passport form, whose turn it is. Carrying it all on broken sleep is exhausting, and it is where small things get missed.
Nights that break both adults
When both adults wake for every feed, nobody gets restorative sleep. Without a plan, the 3am arguments about turns start to feel personal.
Advice from every direction
Relatives, forums and friends all have opinions on sleep, solids and milestones. Knowing what comes from official sources, and what to ask your own health professional, settles a lot of worry.
Money and paperwork arriving in pieces
Registration deadlines, benefit checks, leave pay changes and childcare deposits turn up at random. Without one list, something is always nearly overdue.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Imagine it is a Sunday evening at the end of month one. The baby is asleep in their own cot, and you and whoever shares the load sit down for five minutes with the First Year Hub open. The Week View shows the pattern of feeds at a glance. The next appointment is in nine days, and the questions are already written.
As you open the Rota sheet, you can see who owns what, including the head work that used to fall silently on one person. Tonight's sleep blocks are agreed. Off duty means phone off and door shut, and you both know it.
When the health visitor asks how many wet nappies there were yesterday, you simply turn the page. When your manager emails about your return date, you open the letter in the library and fill the brackets. When a relative suggests honey on a dummy, you hand them the helpers guide and smile.
Whether you start with the When-to-Call card on the fridge tonight or the Settings sheet tomorrow morning, the system gets lighter every month. By the first birthday, you will open the Memories sheet and read twelve lines about a year you didn't have to carry alone.

In the first six weeks, there is no such thing as a normal day, so don't try to build one around the baby's timings. Build it around three layers instead, in this order of priority. Layer 1: the baby. Fed, safe, clean enough and held. That is the whole list. Babies in these weeks feed often and irregularly; the NHS notes that newborns often wake repeatedly in the night for the first few months, and that they are asleep more than they are awake. You are not behind if your days have no shape. Layer 2: the adults. Each adult gets one protected block of sleep in every 24 hours, one proper meal, water within reach of every feeding spot, and something that isn't the baby: a shower, ten minutes outside, a phone call with a friend. If you're recovering from a birth, add whatever your midwife or doctor told you about rest and recovery.

Is this medical advice?
No. The kit is educational and organisational. For feeding, sleep, growth, development and vaccinations, follow your doctor, midwife, health visitor, nurse or paediatrician. Where the kit summarises official guidance from the WHO, NHS, CDC, AAP or NHTSA, it names the source and the date checked so you can read the current page.
Does the kit include a vaccination schedule?
No, on purpose. Schedules differ by country and change over time. The Vaccinations sheet records exactly what your own health service gives you, with dates, reactions and the next due date.
How do I organise my baby's first year?
Give each recurring job one home and one rhythm: a log while you need it, one appointment record, a monthly check of milestones, growth, safety and money, a weekly rota review and a fortnightly wellbeing check-in. The Start-here map shows the whole year as one flow.
How can two parents share night feeds?
Many couples split the night into two protected blocks, so one adult sleeps while the other is on duty, with a one-line handover between them. With breastfeeding, the on-duty adult may bring the baby to feed and take over settling, or use expressed milk if you've discussed it with your health professional. The Night-shift plan helps you agree it.
When should I start solids?
The WHO recommends starting complementary foods at around six months, and many health services give similar advice. Ask your health professional first, especially if your baby was born early or has eczema or a known allergy. The kit includes allergen questions to ask and a Solids log.
Does it work outside the UK or US?
Yes. The workbook works in any currency, the examples come from many countries, and the country notes cover India, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Singapore, with links to the official sources to check.
Does it work for single parents, same-sex parents, adoptive families or grandparents?
Yes. Every tool is written for any family shape. The night-shift and helper plan, for example, works as well for a single parent planning helper blocks as for two parents splitting nights.
Can I measure my starting point?
If you'd like to, measure your starting point with AssessAll assessments such as Time, Priorities & Focus, Family & Elder Caregiving Judgment, or Early Years & Childcare Practice Judgment if you work in or plan to use childcare. They're optional and separate from the kit.
How do I turn the plan into habits that stick?
Turn it into a development plan with if-then habits: for example, 'If it's the 14th, then we do the month-day check'. Jobulary's guide to implementation intentions explains the method.
Can I get a refund?
Digital kits are non-refundable once downloaded, except for corrupted files we can't fix within 3 working days, duplicate charges or failed delivery. If anything doesn't open, contact us and we'll sort it.
How much does Baby's First Year System cost?
₹999 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $29 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
