Employee onboarding LMS: induction pathways that assign themselves on day one
By Bodhih Training Solutions, Bengaluru · UpdatedThe short answer
An onboarding LMS gives every new joiner the right induction without HR assigning it by hand. On the Bodhih LMS, SCIM 2.0 directory sync adds the joiner from your identity provider, groups and attribute rules assign the induction pathway by department, role or location, single sign-on lets them in with their work account, and automations send reminders and escalate overdue steps to the manager.
How does automated onboarding work on the Bodhih LMS?
The sequence for a new joiner, once set up:
| When | What happens | Feature |
|---|---|---|
| Joiner created in your directory | An LMS account is created with their attributes | SCIM 2.0 directory sync |
| Same moment | They join the right groups and receive the induction pathway | Groups and attribute rules |
| Day one | They sign in with their work account, no new password | Single sign-on (OpenID Connect) |
| During the first weeks | Reminders go out before each due date | Automations |
| Step overdue | Their manager is notified | Escalation automation |
| Pathway complete | Completion is recorded and reportable | Saved and scheduled reports |
| Employee leaves | Their account is deactivated | SCIM deactivation |
What can an induction pathway contain?
Most induction material already exists as documents and recordings. The LMS hosts them as they are and tracks each step.
- SCORM 1.2 or 2004 modules from your authoring tool or vendor
- Policy documents as PDF or Word
- Welcome and product presentations as PowerPoint
- Leadership welcome videos and audio briefings
- Role-specific steps added by attribute, such as a sales or plant-safety track
Which identity providers does it connect to?
Single sign-on uses OpenID Connect, with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta and Google Workspace supported, and a company can connect several providers, which helps after an acquisition. SCIM 2.0 keeps users and attributes in step with your directory, including deactivation when someone leaves.
Which plan do you need for onboarding automation?
Plans are billed annually and exclude GST.
| Need | Plan | Price per year |
|---|---|---|
| Host an induction course and track it, up to 50 seats | Launch | ₹99,000 |
| Automations, groups, attribute rules and SSO, up to 200 seats | Growth | ₹2,90,000 |
| SCIM sync and API, up to 1,000 seats | Scale | ₹8,90,000 |
| Over 1,000 seats, data residency, SLA | Enterprise | Quoted, from ₹15,00,000 |
What should new managers learn during onboarding?
People promoted or hired into their first management role need more than an induction. Add AI for Managers to their pathway, a 16-hour online course in which they build a delegation pack, a 1:1 and coaching kit and a performance review pack on their own team’s work.

Questions people ask next
Can the LMS assign onboarding courses automatically?
Yes, from the Growth plan. Groups and attribute rules assign an induction pathway based on fields such as department, role or location. When SCIM sync is used, which is included from Scale, a new joiner receives the pathway as soon as they appear in your directory.
Does the LMS support SCIM with Entra ID or Okta?
Yes. SCIM 2.0 directory sync is included from the Scale plan and creates, updates and deactivates users from your identity provider. Single sign-on works through OpenID Connect with Entra ID, Okta and Google Workspace, and several providers can be connected to one company.
Can managers see whether their new joiners have finished induction?
Yes. Automations can notify a manager when a step is overdue, and saved or scheduled reports can send managers or HR a regular view of completion by team. Reports can also be exported as CSV.
Can we reuse our existing induction material?
Yes. Upload SCORM modules, PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint decks, videos and audio as they are. Existing SCORM content from another LMS is migrated during onboarding at no extra charge, so the induction can go live without rebuilding it.
Can different locations get different induction content?
Yes. Attribute rules can add location-specific steps, and branches give regional offices their own portal address, look and admins on one contract. Growth includes three branches and Scale fifteen, so a plant, a sales office and a head office can each run their own version.
What happens to the account when someone leaves?
With SCIM directory sync, the account is deactivated when the person is removed or disabled in your identity provider. Their training history stays in your reports and audit trail. SCIM sync is included from the Scale plan.
