Quick answer

What did Jethro advise Moses about delegation?

In Exodus 18, Jethro saw Moses judging the people alone from morning to evening and told him it was not sustainable. He advised teaching people the way, appointing able, honest leaders over groups of thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens, letting them decide small matters and bringing only hard cases up. Bodhih Training's kit turns this into a working system.

Sound familiar?

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.

Everything waits on you

Approvals, disputes and small decisions queue up from morning to evening. Each is reasonable on its own; together they leave no time for the hard cases only you can handle.

The team grew, the layers did not

Eight team leads all report to you and nobody leads the leads. Every exception climbs straight to the top.

Nobody knows who decides

With unwritten rules, escalating feels safe and deciding feels risky, so capable people keep asking permission.

Hard cases arrive late, or not at all

Small things reach you instantly while the real risks wait, because there is no clear route for them.

No successor in sight

Your deputies run the work well, but none has ever owned a decision you care about.

Ancient wisdom as posters

Lines from Proverbs or Exodus appear in speeches but never become habits. Without a routine, a log and team tools, they stay on the wall.

Now imagine this

Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.

Picture tomorrow at 08:00. You draw the week's card, read one line in the World English Bible or Taylor's Sayings of the Fathers, then ask Jethro's question: what am I doing today that someone else should own? You write one item and one name. Three minutes, and the day has a direction.

Now imagine Friday afternoon. You open the Leaders of Tens Workbook and see the hours a week you have already handed to the layers below you. One hard case came up twice this month, so you turn it into a rule, and next month it stays below.

Imagine the first Tuesday of the month. As you sit down with someone you are developing, you ask what went well, hand them one real decision and agree where they will get credit. Six months on, you have names on your succession plan.

And picture week twelve. Whether you begin with the e-book tonight or the workload log tomorrow, the morning check, the Friday review and the mentoring conversations are already in your calendar.

A taste of Chapter 1

Meera logged 214 items in five days: about 31 hours a week. Nineteen hours were small matters: part orders under an agreed value, overtime within policy, rota swaps, routine customer updates. Six were genuine hard cases: a safety incident, a contract dispute, a hiring decision. The rest was teaching, strategy and relationships. The surprise was the column "Who could own this?" For almost every small matter there was a name, often someone who had once owned it and stopped because Meera kept answering first. Her habit, not their ability, had pulled the work up. She wrote her first morning check on Wednesday: "Part orders under the limit: Pune area lead, from today."

Questions buyers ask

Jethro's Counsel and Solomon's Proverbs: FAQs

Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my link

Is this a religious book?

No. These texts are sacred to Jews and Christians, and Moses is honoured in Islam, and the kit treats that reverence with respect. It presents them as wisdom literature and heritage applied to leadership, with no religious claims, devotional practice or theology. It is written for leaders of any faith or none.

Which translations do you use and why?

Biblical quotations are copied word for word from the World English Bible, which its publisher has placed in the public domain. The Sayings of the Fathers are quoted from Charles Taylor's 1897 Cambridge translation, also in the public domain. The In plain words lines and everything else are Bodhih Training's own wording; no modern copyrighted translation or popular book is quoted or echoed.

What did Jethro tell Moses in Exodus 18?

That judging every case alone from morning to evening would wear out both Moses and the people. He advised teaching people the way, choosing able, honest leaders over groups of different sizes, letting them settle small matters and bringing only the hard cases to Moses. Moses took the advice.

How is this different from the Delegation and Workload Planner?

The Delegation and Workload Planner helps you hand over your own tasks. This kit is about building leadership layers: who decides what at each level, how hard cases come up, how you choose leaders and how you mentor successors.

How long does the daily practice take?

About five minutes a day: three in the morning for the Jethro check and two in the evening. The Friday delegation review takes twenty minutes and each monthly mentoring conversation about forty-five.

Can I use it with my team?

Yes. The workshop guide has 90-minute and half-day versions, the leadership code is a one-page team charter, and the 52 principle-of-the-week emails match the card deck. Your personal licence covers use with your own team; company licences are available.

Is the mentoring pipeline suitable for promotion decisions?

It is a thinking aid for job-related evidence, not legal or HR advice. It never scores personal characteristics or belief. For promotions, restructures and role changes, follow your HR process, company policy and local employment law.

How do I measure my starting point?

AssessAll offers three assessments that fit this kit: Delegation & Empowerment, Mentoring & Sponsorship, Coaching & Developing Others. Take one in week one and again after week twelve to compare. They are separate products, not included; links are on the Start Here map.

How do I turn this into a development plan?

Jobulary's individual development plan tool, linked on the Start Here map, helps you turn what you learn in the twelve weeks into a measured plan with goals and review dates.

How is this different from Old Wisdom for Modern Days?

Old Wisdom for Modern Days covers ten traditions as a personal philosophy. This kit goes deep on Hebrew wisdom for people who lead others, with delegation, decision rights, mentoring and change tools and a 12-week programme.

How much does Jethro's Counsel and Solomon's Proverbs cost?

₹1,299 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $34 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.

How do I get the files after paying?

Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.

What software do I need?

Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.

Can I get a refund?

Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.

Can my company buy this for a team?

Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
