What are the leadership lessons of the Bhagavad Gita?
The Bhagavad Gita teaches leaders to name the freeze before a hard decision, put effort into the work rather than anxiety about results, lead by example, read the energy in a team, and decide after full reflection. The Gita Leader by Bodhih Training turns these lessons into 18 principles and a daily practice.

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
You freeze on the decisions that matter
You can argue every side. Every option costs someone you respect, so the decision waits, and the team waits with it.
Results swing your mood and your judgement
A good number and you are generous; a bad one and you are sharp with people. You know it, and you do not have a method to stay level.
Leadership books do not survive Monday
You read the ideas, agree with them, and by Wednesday nothing has changed. What is missing is a daily rhythm and tools that make the idea a habit.
Ancient wisdom content feels vague or preachy
Most Gita-for-managers material is either inspirational quotes or religious commentary. You want something precise, practical and respectful that works in a hybrid, multinational team.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Picture tomorrow at 8.10. Before you open email, you take the card off your desk and write three things that are yours to do today, and one thing that is not yours to carry. Two minutes. You already feel the difference between the work and the worry.
Later, in the tense meeting, you notice the heat rising and ask yourself the ten-second question: am I working the process or worrying about the outcome? You take one action on the process. When you fill in the evening review that night, you score your steadiness, and you notice, maybe for the first time, exactly where praise or blame moved you.
Imagine Friday. Your team spends five minutes reading the week as clarity, drive and inertia, and agrees one action for each. Whether you start with the Daily Dharma card tonight or the Command Centre workbook tomorrow, the rhythm builds itself around the date you type in.
And imagine the end of the month, when the decision you have been circling goes through the six-step Kurukshetra review. You check the action, check yourself as the actor, name the flaw you accept, and hand back the choices that belong to your team. As you close the form, you know why you decided, and so do they.

She is not lazy and she is not weak. She is one of the most capable operations heads in her company. And she is frozen. One of the oldest and clearest descriptions of that exact moment is not in a business book. It is at the opening of the Bhagavad Gita, where a skilled and respected commander looks across a field at people he loves, feels his limbs give way and puts down his bow. The rest of the text is a conversation that gets him back on his feet. It does not do this with a pep talk. It works through his despair, his confusion about duty, his fear of the outcome and his mixed motives, and it ends by handing the decision back to him.
The honest comparison
| Free templates and typical advice | This kit | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Quotes lifted from modern translations, often unattributed | Only verbatim public-domain lines (Besant 1922 edition, Arnold 1885), each cited, with Bodhih's own plain-words rendering |
| Method | Inspiring ideas with no practice | A daily loop, a weekly team audit, a monthly decision review, an 18-week programme and a 108-day challenge |
| Tools | A printable quote poster | 2 workbooks, 6 fillable forms, 7 Word templates, 4 cheat sheets, 52 cards, a calendar and a task board |
| Misuse | Duty read as obedience or 'tough it out' | Every principle carries a 'What this does not mean' note, and caste readings are rejected |
| Team use | Personal reading only | Facilitator guide, culture code session, guna audit and 52 team emails |

Is this a religious book?
No. The Gita Leader reads the Bhagavad Gita as philosophy and heritage put to work in leadership. It asks for no belief, worship or ritual and makes no claims about the divine. It treats the reverence many people hold for the text with respect, and readers of every faith and none use it in the same way.
Which translation do you use and why?
Every quotation is copied word for word from two public-domain English translations: Annie Besant's, first published in 1895 (quoted from her 1922 fourth edition), which is careful and verse-numbered, and Sir Edwin Arnold's The Song Celestial (1885), used sparingly for memorable lines. We use only these so that the wording is accurate, citable and free of any modern rights. Every 'In plain words' line is Bodhih's own.
What are the main leadership lessons in the Bhagavad Gita?
Read as a coaching conversation, the Gita covers recognising decision paralysis, effort over anxiety about outcomes, leading by example, doing your own role well, mastering attention, seeing the whole system, earning trust, reading energy in people, and deciding after full reflection. The kit turns its 18 chapters into 18 principles with a method for each.
Do I need to know Sanskrit or the Gita already?
No. Sanskrit terms appear in italics with simple pronunciation, and every quotation has a plain-words line. The About the Source card explains the old English of the translations.
How much time does it take each day?
The Daily Dharma loop takes about five minutes: two in the morning, a few seconds in the moment and three in the evening. The weekly team audit takes five minutes, and the monthly decision review about thirty.
How do I measure my starting point?
Take one of the AssessAll assessments that fit this kit (Decision-Making Under Uncertainty, Resilience & Stress Management, or Ethical Leadership & Judgment) before you begin and again after week 18. The Start Here map links to them.
How do I turn it into a development plan?
Your week 18 review produces three development goals. Jobulary helps you turn them into a measured individual development plan with goals and dates.
Can I use it with my team?
Yes. The facilitator guide, culture code form, weekly guna audit, practice deck and 52 team emails are designed for team use under your personal licence. To roll it out across several managers or a company programme, email solutions@bodhih.com for a team or company licence.
Is this advice for stress or mental health?
No. The kit is educational material for leaders, not medical or mental-health advice. Where it touches stress or exhaustion it says when to get support, and for legal or HR matters it reminds you to check your HR team, company policy and local law.
What is the refund policy?
Digital kits are non-refundable once downloaded. The exceptions are corrupted files that are not fixed within 3 working days, duplicate charges, or failed delivery.
How much does The Gita Leader cost?
₹1,499 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $39 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can I get a refund?
Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
