A practical playbook and twelve ready-to-use tools that help teams split across offices, time zones and functions agree how they work, decide faster and stop living in meetings.
Work Across Boundaries · Bodhih Pro Kits · 20 by Bodhih Training, trainers to 2,000+ companies since 2008.
Agree a short team charter, default to written async updates, keep only meetings with a clear outcome, map time-zone overlap and protect core hours, hand work over with a structured note, and make decision rights explicit with a RACI. Work Across Boundaries by Bodhih Training gives you the method plus ready-made templates for each step.

Questions sit unanswered while one time zone sleeps, so people guess, build on the guess and argue in long threads. By the time you are online, you are untangling, not working.
Recurring meetings you inherited and never questioned eat the day. Status updates that could be three written lines take an hour, and the person in the least convenient time zone pays for it with late nights.
In cross-functional work, several managers own pieces of the outcome and each assumes someone else has it. Work stalls, a critical review gets missed and everyone is right but nobody is accountable.
Brief messages read as curt, silence is ambiguous and cultural codes get crossed. Good people end up frustrated with each other without ever having had a real conversation.
Imagine opening your laptop on Monday morning to a dozen messages instead of forty. The question that would have sparked a debate is waiting in a short decision document with your name as owner and a comment deadline in UTC. You read for fifteen minutes, make the call in writing, and the team on the other side of the world wakes up to an answer.
That is what happens when you open the Collaboration Hub and map your team's time zones for the first time. You see your golden hours at a glance, and you notice who has been taking every late call. As you move your main meeting into the overlap and rotate the rest, people start to thank you.
Then you run the meeting audit. The annual cost column does the persuading for you. Two status meetings become written updates, a sprawling review shrinks to thirty minutes with five people, and you get back hours each week that you can spend on the work you were actually hired to do.
And by the time you have run your first team charter session and your first health check, you will notice something quieter: fewer misunderstandings, decisions that stick and colleagues who feel like a team even though some of them have never met. Whether you start with the charter tonight or the meeting audit tomorrow, the kit meets you where your team is.
The e-book shows you how. The tools make it happen. Here is exactly what you download.

People who measure before and after improve faster and can show it. AssessAll, our sister assessment platform, has AI-graded assessments that pair with this kit. Take one now, work through the kit, then re-take it.
Ahmed, a programme manager in Dubai, sent a weekly status email that took him two hours to write. It was beautifully formatted and thorough. It also produced, every single week, a flurry of replies asking things like "So are we on track or not?" and "Do you need anything from me?" The problem was not effort. It was structure. Ahmed wrote his updates in the order things happened. His readers wanted them in the order that mattered to them. When you write for a distributed team, your reader is alone with your words, possibly reading in their second or third language, probably on a phone, often between two other tasks. Every ambiguity costs a round trip, and a round trip can cost a day. Good async writing does three things. It puts the point first, it makes the ask explicit, and it can be understood without any other context.

A 10-chapter e-book, the Collaboration Hub Excel workbook, six Word templates (team charter, async decision document, meeting agenda and notes, handoff note, working-hours agreement and message templates), two fillable PDF worksheets, two quick-reference cards and a 30-day calendar plan. Everything comes with realistic sample content so you can see how it works before adding your own.
Yes. The workbook uses standard formulas that work in Excel 2016 or later, Excel for the web and Google Sheets. The Word templates open in Google Docs, and the fillable PDFs work in Acrobat Reader and most PDF apps.
A useful charter covers purpose and outcomes, scope and boundaries, roles and decision rights, communication agreements, meeting agreements, and how the team handles conflict and reviews the charter. Keep it to two to four pages and make each working agreement specific enough that a newcomer could tell whether it is being kept.
List each person's UTC offset and normal working hours, convert everyone's day to UTC and count who is available in each hour. The Time Zones sheet in the Collaboration Hub does this automatically and names the busiest hour. If no hour works for everyone, rotate the slot and lean on written handoffs.
Every deliverable or decision should have exactly one Accountable person. Two As means nobody is truly accountable; none means the work drifts. The RACI sheet flags any row that breaks the rule, and any row without someone Responsible.
Measure your starting point with AssessAll's Remote and Hybrid Work Readiness, Team Building and Collaboration, and Stakeholder Management and Influence assessments. They give you an objective baseline, and you can retake them after the 30-day reset to see what has changed.
Yes. Jobulary for Teams helps you turn assessment results and the habits in this kit into development plans for distributed teams, so each person has clear goals that travel with them.
No. Async-first means writing is the default for information and routine decisions, so that live time is saved for conflict, creative work, hard trade-offs and relationship-building. Most teams that try it find their remaining conversations are better, not fewer in value.
Yes, you can use the templates with your own team and in your own client work. Please do not share or resell the files themselves. For team or company-wide licences, contact solutions@bodhih.com.
