The day continues with Observe — four observation techniques, including the 5 Whys and fishbone analysis, gathering evidence before conclusions — and Link, where the Cause-Solution Matrix keeps every proposed fix tied to a verified cause. The Facilitator Guide sets out every step, timing and debrief.
Day 2 builds the discipline most teams skip: Validate, testing a solution before committing to it with a pre-mortem, and Execute, turning it into an implementation plan with individual accountability and a post-implementation review. In Session 2.3 they run the full SOLVE cycle on a complex, stakeholder-messy case, then commit to 30 days of applying it to their own problem.
You might notice, afterwards, that 'what problem are we actually solving?' has become the first question in the room.
