Quick answer

How do you decide which yoga or Pilates classes to keep on the timetable?

Collect four to eight weeks of attendance, then read each weekly slot's fill rate together with its waitlist and its margin after teacher pay and a share of rent. Full slots with waitlists need capacity nearby; low-fill slots that lose money get a fair test, then a cut or move. The Yoga and Pilates Studio Manager by Bodhih Training calculates all three.

Sound familiar?

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.

Waitlists in one room, empty mats in the other

The evening reformer classes turn people away while a midday class runs at a quarter full. You sense it, but you cannot see which slots earn their place.

Prices copied from the studio down the road

Your ladder of drop-ins, packs and memberships matches a competitor whose costs you have never seen. One membership may be selling below what a visit costs you.

Intro offers that never become members

People buy the intro, come once, and drift away. Nobody booked their second class and nobody noticed when the offer ended.

Teacher pay by habit

Everyone is on the model they started on. You do not know what each class costs in teacher pay, or how the other models would compare.

Routines that live in your head

Opening, closing, cleaning, equipment checks and cover depend on whoever is on shift remembering. A frayed strap stays in use for one more class.

Now imagine this

Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.

Imagine the first Monday of next month. You open the workbook, paste last month's classes and read the Timetable flags: three slots full with waitlists, two low and losing money, one too new to judge. As you fill in the Monthly Studio Review, the decisions almost write themselves, and you know which teacher to talk to first.

At the front desk, every new person has their second class booked before they leave, because the welcome checklist says so and the day-two message is ready in the library. When a member asks to pause for a month, the policy and the message match, and the restart reminder is already scheduled.

In the reformer room, a worn strap has a red tag on it and does not appear in the booking app. The cover request for Friday is on a card at the desk, and the cover list shows who to ask first, with their documents current.

Whether you start with the pricing calculator tonight or put the print pack on the wall tomorrow morning, the whole job is in one place, and every target on the dashboard is one you set from your own eight weeks of numbers.

A taste of Chapter 3

Class fill rate is visits attended divided by places offered. It is the headline number, but read on its own it misleads. Two numbers belong next to it. Waitlist at class start shows demand you turned away. A class at 100% fill with no waitlist is full; a class at 100% with a waitlist of three most weeks is telling you to add capacity nearby. Margin per class is revenue minus teacher pay minus the class's share of fixed costs. The workbook estimates it on every Attendance Log row: member visits at the room's average revenue per visit, aggregator visits at the net payout you set, teacher pay from the teacher's pay model, and overheads at the fixed cost per class hour (Saltwater's is 96.76: 18,500 spread over about 191 class hours a month).

Questions buyers ask

The Yoga and Pilates Studio Manager: FAQs

Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my link

Can I use this with my staff (or team, teachers)?

Yes. The personal licence covers use within your own studio, including printing the posters and cards, sharing the forms and giving the teacher handbook to your own teachers and desk team. For several studios, a franchise or a group, ask about company and multi-site licences at solutions@bodhih.com.

Does it work in my country?

The method works anywhere: timetables, fill, pricing per visit, member care and teacher pay are universal, and amounts work in any currency. The dated sheet covers membership, auto-renewal and data rules for the UK, US, EU, India and Australia and names where to check elsewhere. Laws on memberships, contracts and employment must still be checked locally.

Does the kit include exercise, class plans or health screening?

No. It is a business and administration kit. Class content, safety in class and health screening follow your teachers' training, their certifying bodies, your insurer and local rules. The policies pack has a placeholder where your insurer's health declaration wording goes, and nothing in the kit is medical advice.

How do I work out what a class really costs?

Add the teacher's pay to the class's share of fixed costs, worked out as monthly fixed costs divided by class hours per month, times the class length. The workbook does it on every class row and shows margin per class next to fill.

How should I price yoga or Pilates memberships and class packs?

Start from break-even revenue per visit, then check each product's revenue per visit actually used, not its headline price per class. Each step down the ladder should reward commitment without undercutting the next step by accident. The Pricing Calculator shows every product against break-even.

Should my studio use ClassPass or other aggregators?

Platforms can fill places that would otherwise be empty, especially off-peak, but they pay less per visit than members. Measure aggregator share by time band, cap places at peak times and review quarterly. The workbook does the measuring; your contract sets the terms.

Which booking software does it work with?

Any system that can export the class list with booked, attended, late cancels, no-shows and waitlist, and member last-visit data. You paste the export into the workbook weekly. No software is endorsed, and you should confirm features and prices with each provider.

Is there a way to measure my starting point as an owner or manager?

Yes. AssessAll offers separate assessments that fit this kit: the Small Business Operating Decision Assessment for Shop, Service and Studio Owners, Team Building & Collaboration for your team, and Data Interpretation: Tables & Charts for reading the dashboard with confidence. They are sold separately on assessall.com.

How do I turn what I learn into a development plan?

Pick two skills from the kit to build over the next quarter, such as reading the dashboard or running the teacher meeting, and write them into a simple plan. Jobulary's article on a development plan that survives week six shows how to keep one going.

Can I edit the files and add my studio's branding?

Yes. Every Word template starts with a header line for your studio name, logo and contact details, the workbooks take your studio name on Settings, and the print pack has a box on each page for your name or logo.

How much does The Yoga and Pilates Studio Manager cost?

₹999 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $29 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.

How do I get the files after paying?

Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.

What software do I need?

Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.

Can I get a refund?

Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.

Can my company buy this for a team?

Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
