How do I keep track of my pet's care?
Keep one record beside your vet's: every visit in your words and the vet's, each vaccine and parasite dose with the interval your vet or the label gives, monthly weights and receipts. Let a sheet count the days and look at it once a month. The Pet Owner's Complete Kit from Bodhih Training gives you that system, ready to fill in.
Want the full free guide first? Read Pet care checklist: how to organise your pet's health, food and costs.
You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
Dates in a drawer
The vaccine card is somewhere, the deworming date is on the back of a leaflet, and the flea treatment is 'about monthly'. Nothing goes wrong on the day you miss a dose, which is exactly why it gets missed.
Half-remembered vet visits
You leave the clinic with instructions you are sure you will remember, and by the car park you have lost the second half. The next vet asks for a history you cannot give.
The scoop, the treats and the scale
Nobody is counting, so a healthy weight drifts. A generous sitter week adds half a kilo. You only notice when the vet mentions it.
Insurance you cannot compare
Three quotes with different premiums, deductibles, co-pays and limits, and no way to see what each would cost you in a bad year.
Panic at 11 at night
Which emergency vet? Which number? Can the sitter authorise treatment? These are questions to answer on a calm Saturday, not in a crisis.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Picture the first Saturday of the month. You open the workbook with a cup of tea, and the Dashboard tells you in one glance what is due in the next two weeks, what is late, whether your pet is inside the weight band your vet agreed, and where the money went.
As you fill in the Preventive Care sheet, each dose your pet has already had becomes a date the sheet counts down for you, using only the interval your vet or the label gave. When you add a new dose, the old one retires itself.
Imagine handing your sitter one pack: routine, food in grams, treats counted, medicines exactly as on the label, the vet's number and a signed authority with a spending limit. Then imagine not being phoned once.
Whether you start with the emergency card on the fridge tonight or the Feeding Plan tomorrow, every file is ready to fill in, and the composite example of Karan in Bengaluru, his rescue dog Bruno and his cat Miso shows you what good looks like on every sheet.

- You will be able to turn your vet's target weight and factor into grams a day and a counted treat allowance
- You will be able to compare insurance by what it would really cost you in a quiet, a mid and a major year
- You will be able to brief a sitter, authorise vet care and plan travel from official sources
- You will be able to act calmly in an emergency or if your pet goes missing
- You will be able to notice slow change in an older pet and plan ahead with your vet

Feeding a pet well has two parts. What to feed is a conversation with your vet, especially for puppies and kittens, older pets, pets with health conditions and any home-cooked diet. How much to feed is arithmetic, and arithmetic is where most of us drift. The Feeding Plan sheet uses the resting energy formula widely taught in veterinary nutrition: 70 multiplied by the pet's weight in kilograms raised to the power 0.75. That is roughly what the animal burns at rest. Your vet multiplies it by a factor that depends on age, neuter status, activity and body condition. The factor is a vet decision; do not pick one from a chart. The product is daily calories. Divide by the calories on the food label and you have grams. Today's Veterinary Nurse sets out the same formula and the common guide that treats should be no more than 10% of a pet's daily calories.
The honest comparison
| Free templates and typical advice | This kit | |
|---|---|---|
| Health records | A vaccine card in a drawer | A health record beside the vet's, with follow-up flags |
| Reminders | Memory and the pack in the cupboard | Next due dates counted from the vet's or label's interval, with traffic lights |
| Feeding | A scoop and the bag's chart | Grams a day from the vet's target and factor, treats capped and counted |
| Insurance | Pick the cheapest premium | Your real cost in three scenarios, ranked, then read the cover |
| Sitters and travel | A text message and good luck | A three-page sitter pack, a vet authority letter and a travel timeline |
| Countries | One country's assumptions | Any currency, metric or imperial, and a dated sheet with official sources |

The Pet Owner's Complete Kit: FAQs
Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my linkIs this veterinary advice?
No. It is educational content and an organising system. Your vet decides every diagnosis, treatment, dose and vaccine or parasite interval. The kit helps you record what the vet said, remember what is due and ask better questions. If you are worried about your pet, call your vet.
Does it work for cats, rabbits and other small pets?
Yes. The example household has a dog and a cat, and every sheet works for any species. Appendix B explains the small changes for rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish and reptiles, such as weekly weigh-ins and finding a vet who sees your species.
How do I keep track of my pet's vaccinations?
Write down each dose with the date given and the repeat interval your vet or the product label gives, then count the days to the next one. The Preventive Care sheet does the counting, flags anything due soon or overdue, and retires older doses automatically.
How much should I feed my dog or cat?
Ask your vet for a target weight and a feeding factor. The Feeding Plan uses the resting energy formula taught in veterinary nutrition, your vet's factor and the calories on your food label to give grams a day and a meal. Weigh food and weigh your pet monthly, and let the vet adjust.
Can I use this with my family, sitter or clients?
Yes, within your own household or your own pet-care business under the personal licence: share the sitter pack with your sitter and the agreement with your family. Pet sitters and walkers can use the templates with their own clients. Company and multi-site licences are available via solutions@bodhih.com.
Does it work in my country?
The method works anywhere, in any currency, in metric or imperial. The dated rules sheet covers examples checked in November 2026 for Great Britain, the EU, the United States and India, with official sources. Travel, licensing, microchip and insurance rules differ and change, so always check your local and official sources.
Do I need Excel?
No. The workbook opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice. Forms fill in any PDF reader including Acrobat Reader, and the Word templates open in Word or Google Docs.
How can I measure my starting point?
If you want to test the planning and estimating skills behind the kit, AssessAll offers separate assessments such as Estimation & Forecast Calibration (https://www.assessall.com/store/estimation-calibration-judgment) and Project & Delivery Leadership (https://www.assessall.com/store/project-delivery-leadership). They are optional and sold separately.
How do I turn this into a habit that sticks?
Pick one anchor, such as the first Saturday of the month, and write an if-then plan: 'If it is the first Saturday, then I open the Dashboard after breakfast.' Jobulary's guide to if-then plans explains the idea: https://jobulary.com/blog/implementation-intentions-if-then-plans-at-work
Can AI tell me what is wrong with my pet?
No, and the kit is clear about that. The AI prompt pack uses assistants for drafting, summarising, formatting and checking arithmetic. Questions about symptoms, medicines, doses or whether to see a vet go to your vet.
How much does The Pet Owner's Complete Kit cost?
₹799 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $24 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can I get a refund?
Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
