What should I do in my first 100 days after moving abroad?
Anchor first: a phone number, emergency contacts and the official newcomer pages. Then get your ID numbers, bank and registrations, rent through a verified lease, register with a doctor, budget by the week, start a local credit record, find your licence route, enrol children and plan connection weekly. The Newcomer's First 100 Days Kit by Bodhih Training gives you the tools for each step.

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
Every office wants a document you do not have yet
The bank wants proof of address, the tax office wants a bank letter, the landlord wants a local account. The kit shows you how to map the loop and break it, usually with one letter from your employer, university or host.
The money feels like it is evaporating
Deposits, coats, fees and flights leave in lumps, and a monthly budget hides them. A weekly cash runway shows you exactly when you will dip and lets you move a payment before it happens.
The bargain flat and the official-sounding call
Newcomers are prime targets for rental and phone scams. A lease filter, red-flag cards and ready-made words help you slow down at the right moment.
Lonely in the week everything went right
Paperwork done, nobody to talk to. The community and loneliness plan treats connection as a weekly plan item, tracked in two minutes on Sunday.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Imagine Sunday evening at the end of your first week. You open the Dashboard and see what is done, what is waiting and what to chase, in green, amber and red. Your contacts card is in your wallet. Your appointments folder is packed for Monday.
As you add this week's row to the Cash Runway, you can see the deposit coming in week four and you have already moved the coat and the flights to after payday. You know your closing balance will stay above the floor you chose, and you know why.
When the listing that seems too good appears, you notice yourself opening the Lease-and-Viewing-Check before you reply. When an official-sounding caller demands a fine, you already have the words to end the call and ring the office back.
And when a quiet week comes, as it does for almost everyone, you open the Connection Log, see the score dip, and choose one group that meets at the same time next week. Whether you start with the workbook tonight or the first-week checklist tomorrow morning, the next hundred days have a shape.

There is a strong pull, on arrival, to do everything at once. You have been planning for months, the money is leaking, and every task feels urgent. But the first seventy-two hours are when you are least able to do hard things well. Your body clock is wrong, your phone may not work, you do not know where anything is, and you have no documents that prove you live anywhere. So the first three days have a different job. They are for anchoring: making sure you can be reached, can reach help, can get around and can sleep. The registrations come next, and they go better when you are rested, when you know the route to the office and when you have the right papers in a folder.
The honest comparison
| Free templates and typical advice | This kit | |
|---|---|---|
| First week | A long list of everything at once | Three jobs a day, anchored first, with a printed checklist |
| Registrations | Forum threads and conflicting advice | Official pages only, a loop map and a tracker with chase and renewal flags |
| Housing | Listings and hope | A rent ceiling, a lease filter, scam red flags and move-in evidence |
| Money | A monthly budget that hides deposits and flights | A 100-day plan by block and a weekly cash runway against your floor |
| Belonging | Not mentioned | Three circles, a weekly plan and a two-minute Sunday log |
| Country rules | Presented as fact, often out of date | A dated sheet with official sources, and every visa question sent to a licensed adviser |

The Newcomer's First 100 Days Kit: FAQs
Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my linkWhat should I do in my first week after moving abroad?
Anchor first: a working phone number, the emergency number saved, your address written down, a walk around the area and the official newcomer pages found. Then book the first registrations from official sites only. The kit's Day 1 to 7 checklist gives each day no more than three jobs.
How do I get a bank account without proof of address?
Most newcomers meet a loop where each office wants another's document first. Ask each office what else it accepts and ask your employer, university or host for a letter confirming your name and address. The kit includes the letter and a worksheet to map your loop.
Is this immigration or legal advice?
No. The kit is educational and helps you organise your first 100 days. Visa and permission questions go to the official government page and a licensed adviser, and tax, legal, financial and health questions to a qualified professional. Templates are starting points, not legal documents.
Does it work in my country?
The method works anywhere, and the tools work in any currency. The dated sheet covers what we checked for Ireland, the UK and Canada in November 2026 and where to start in other countries. Registration rules, fees and licence rules differ and change, so always check the official page.
Can I use this with my staff, team or family?
Yes, within your own household or your own organisation under the personal licence: an HR or mobility team can use it to support its own new hires. Company and multi-site licences are available from solutions@bodhih.com.
How do I build credit history in a new country?
You usually start at zero, not with bad credit. Build slowly with a salary account, regular bills in your own name and, if you choose, one small card paid in full, and ask your bank which products report to the local bureaus. The Credit Builder sheet tracks each step.
Is it normal to feel lonely after moving abroad?
Yes. The WHO Commission on Social Connection reported in 2025 that 1 in 6 people worldwide is affected by loneliness, and a move cuts most daily connections at once. The kit's community plan and Connection Log help you plan for it; if you feel low for two weeks or more, talk to a doctor or helpline.
How can I measure my starting point?
If you want a structured view of how you adapt and work across cultures, AssessAll offers separate assessments: Cross-Cultural & Inclusive Leadership, Change Leadership & Adaptability, and the Behaviour Under Pressure Assessment for Working Professionals. They are not included in the kit.
How do I turn this into a development plan?
Use your Day 100 review to choose three priorities for the next 100 days. Jobulary's article on the fresh-start effect explains how to reset a goal at a natural new beginning, which a move to a new country certainly is.
I have already been here for two months. Is it too late?
No. Start with the Dashboard and the IDs and Registrations sheet to see what is missing, then pick up the method at your current day number. Many of the most useful tools, such as the Cash Runway and the Connection Log, work from any week.
How much does The Newcomer's First 100 Days Kit cost?
₹799 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $24 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can I get a refund?
Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
