How do I organise a whole school year in my classroom?
Map every date that matters onto one year plan, set up the room before term, teach routines, apply the school's behaviour policy, plan for every learner, fix a weekly rhythm with a workload limit, pass safeguarding concerns on the same day and review each term. The Teacher's Classroom Year System from Bodhih Training gives you a file for each step.

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
Ambushed by the calendar
The data deadline lands in the same week as parents' evening and the trip you are leading. You knew about each one; you just never saw them together.
Routines that never stick
You explained the rules in the first lesson. By October you are repeating yourself every few minutes and the start of every lesson leaks five minutes.
Behaviour handled one incident at a time
Each moment feels separate, so the pattern is invisible until it is a crisis. Positives go unrecorded, and the same quiet students never get noticed.
Plans read once, then forgotten
Learning plans, medical plans and language profiles are read in September and lost by November. Your teaching assistant is told to 'help the low group'.
Evenings and Sundays gone
Marking every book in depth, planning from scratch and answering emails at 10 pm. You know the week is too long but not where the hours go.
Unsure what to do if a child tells you something
You know safeguarding matters. In the moment, you are not sure what to say, what to write or who to tell, and that worry stays with you.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Picture the Monday before term. Instead of scrolling a 14-page calendar, you open the Start-here map, type your term dates into Settings and copy forty dates into the Year Planner. By lunchtime you can see your heaviest weeks in yellow and red, and you have already moved the homework that would have landed in the data-drop week.
Now it is the first Tuesday. As you greet each student at the door and teach the entry routine as if it were a lesson, the poster on the wall says the same words you do. On Thursday, the class comes in and starts the Do Now without being asked. You log the routine as taught, and the sheet tells you when to review it.
Imagine week three. A student's behaviour is building. Because you have been logging facts the same day, the Behaviour Summary shows the pattern, and the restorative conversation record gives you five calm questions. One seat move and a check-in later, the positives start to outnumber the concerns.
And picture a Friday afternoon in October. Twenty minutes with the Dashboard: one number that moved, one reason, one change. The calculator has already shown you which marking habit to change. Whether you start with the workbook tonight or the wall print pack tomorrow, the year ahead has a shape you can see.
20 files that do the work for you
The e-book shows you how. The tools make it happen. Here is exactly what you download.
The Teacher's Classroom Year System (e-book, PDF)
The guide: methods, worked examples, scripts and exercises

Classroom Year Workbook
20 sheets: Settings, year planner by week, class lists with support flags, seating plan generator, routines register, behaviour log and per-student summary, attendance concerns, homework, interventions, contacts, workload, resources, weekly trend, term review and four dashboards with charts.
Teacher Workload and Time Budget Calculator
A 5-sheet calculator: your weekly hours by category from your timetable and habits (marking minutes per script times scripts, planning per lesson, admin, duties), with a side-by-side 'what to cut' scenario and the hours it saves per week and per year.

Four fillable pages: the classroom set-up checklist (room, layout, displays, safety and access), the first-week systems checklist, and a student information and support-needs summary per class using school-approved data only.
Behaviour incident and restorative conversation record
Three fillable pages: a factual incident record aligned to your school's behaviour policy, a restorative conversation planner and record, and a pattern review for a student whose entries are adding up.
Safeguarding concern note
A factual record for the designated safeguarding lead, with the hard rules printed on it: listen, do not promise secrecy, do not investigate, record the child's own words, pass it on the same day. For schools and tutors without their own system; the school's own system always comes first.
Cover work planning form
Two fillable pages: a one-page lesson cover plan a cover supervisor can run cold, and a 'cover in ten minutes' summary for your class with routines, seating, support flags and who to call.
Term review and end-of-year handover form
Four fillable pages: a term review with your numbers and one change, a class handover summary for the next teacher, a student-level handover table (codes and what helps) and an end-of-year close-down checklist.
Classroom charter and behaviour-steps plan
A one-page classroom charter with seven routines and your promises to students, plus a behaviour-steps plan aligned to your school's policy: recognition, six steps with exact words, de-escalation, restorative conversations, recording and what never happens.
TA briefing, cover work pack and handover file templates
Three brand-ready templates for handing your class to another adult: a weekly teaching-assistant briefing with scaffolding prompts, a cover work pack with standing tasks, and the end-of-year handover file for next year's teacher.
Teacher message library and class letters
42 short messages for colleagues, the safeguarding lead, the SENCO, leaders, cover supervisors, new students and student praise postcards, plus two brand-ready letters: welcome to my class and a class trip or event note.
Worked example pack: a form teacher's year
The kit's main files shown completed for one composite case: a Year 7 form tutor and science teacher sets up the year, teaches routines, resolves a behaviour pattern, passes on a safeguarding concern correctly with no details recorded, cuts 16 hours a week and writes the July handover.
AI prompt pack for teachers
29 tool-agnostic prompts grouped by the stages of the classroom year (planning, routines, behaviour, inclusion, workload, records, cover, your own growth), each with what to paste in and what to check, plus the no-student-data and human review rules.
Classroom decision card and mistakes to avoid
Eleven 'if you notice, teach this routine' rows, ten more quick decisions for behaviour, safeguarding, homework, workload and cover, and seventeen first-year mistakes with what to do instead.
Numbers that matter: classroom KPI card
Fourteen numbers a classroom year runs on, each with a plain definition, the exact formula, where it lives in the workbook and what to do if it moves.
Safeguarding, student data and AI rules by country (October 2026)
Dated orientation for the UK, US, India, Australia, Singapore and the UAE: safeguarding and reporting duties, student data and privacy law, and official AI-in-education guidance, with what to check.
School year calendar
50 events for a September-to-July year: the set-up week, routine reviews, workload checks, half-term and term reviews, routine re-launches, observation and report preparation, handover meetings and a Friday 20-minute review each term week. Import, then drag events to match your own term dates.
Classroom task board
40 set-up, weekly, termly and end-of-year tasks with list, owner, when, priority and the kit file to use. Import into Trello, Asana, Notion, Planner or Jira.
Classroom wall print pack
7 classroom-ready A4 pages to print and laminate: three routines posters (how we start, how we work, how we finish), a behaviour-steps card with blanks for your school's steps, a staff-only 'if a child tells you' card with blanks for your safeguarding lead, a daily teacher checklist and a cover-work card.
Chapter by chapter
Each chapter opens with a real situation, gives you a method and ends with something to do today, using the tools in your kit.

A school year has a shape. There are weeks when everything happens at once (the first fortnight, data drops, report deadlines, parent meetings, exam seasons) and weeks with space. Meet those weeks unprepared and they ambush you, however hard you work. Meet them with a plan and most of them are just busy. A one-page year plan does three jobs. It shows you the pinch points early enough to prepare (marking moved, resources ready, a quieter lesson planned for the day after parents' evening). It gives you a place to write your own focus for each week, which turns "I must get better at transitions" into a date. And it reminds you to protect the holidays, because a holiday that is not written down as rest becomes a marking week by default.
The honest comparison
| Free templates and typical advice | This kit | |
|---|---|---|
| Year planning | A blank teacher planner | A year planner that calculates terms, weeks and 'this week' from your dates, plus a calendar file |
| Routines | A list of rules to read out | A method for teaching routines like lessons, a register with review dates and three wall posters |
| Behaviour | Generic consequence charts | A plan built on your school's policy, an incident and restorative record, and a log that shows patterns and positives |
| Workload | Tips to 'work smarter' | A time budget calculator with a 'what to cut' scenario and a weekly hours chart against your own limit |
| Safeguarding | Not covered, or vague | The same-day route, a staff card, a concern note with the hard rules and a dated country sheet |
| Handover | A blank page in July | Class and student-level handover templates, a close-down checklist and a worked example |

The Teacher's Classroom Year System: FAQs
Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my linkHow do I set up classroom routines that actually stick?
Teach each routine like a lesson: explain why in one sentence, model it, have everyone practise, give precise feedback and practise again. Then review it on a schedule: next lesson, next week, every three weeks in the first term and after every holiday. The Routines sheet tracks when each one is due.
Will it work with my school's behaviour policy?
Yes. The behaviour-steps plan starts from your school's policy and asks you to copy its exact steps and words. The kit adds calm delivery, de-escalation, restorative conversations and pattern reviews, and it never invents consequences that are not in the policy.
Can I use this with my staff (or team, volunteers, students)?
Yes, within your own school or tutoring business under the personal licence: share the posters, cover packs and templates with colleagues and teaching assistants you work with. Department, whole-school, multi-school and company licences are available from solutions@bodhih.com.
Does it work in my country?
The method is universal and the examples move between countries. The dated sheet covers safeguarding, student data and AI guidance for the UK, US, India, Australia, Singapore and the UAE as of October 2026. Laws, board circulars and school policies differ and change, so check your school's policy, your safeguarding lead and local law.
Does the workbook need student names?
No. It is designed for student codes. Names, learning plans, medical details and safeguarding records stay in your school's approved systems, and the kit never asks you to put identifiable student data into an AI tool.
What should a teacher do if a child discloses abuse?
Listen calmly, do not promise to keep it secret, do not investigate or ask leading questions, write down the child's own words, and pass it to your designated safeguarding lead the same day. If a child is in immediate danger, call the emergency services first. Your school's policy and local law always come first.
How can teachers reduce their workload?
Measure your hours for three weeks first, then change one habit at a time: mark one class set in depth each week and use whole-class feedback for the rest, adapt shared lessons rather than writing from scratch, and batch emails into fixed slots. The calculator shows what each change is worth before you try it.
Is it suitable for private tutors?
Yes. Tutors will use the year plan, routines, records, workload calculator, message library and especially the safeguarding route, which matters more when you work alone. Seating plans and form-tutor tools are optional.
How do I measure my starting point?
If you want an outside view before you start, AssessAll's Classroom Management and Teaching Judgment assessment looks at classroom decisions, the Inclusive Classroom and Additional Support Needs Assessment for Teaching Assistants and Teachers checks inclusive practice, and Time, Priorities & Focus looks at how you manage your week. They are optional and separate from the kit.
How do I turn the term review into a development plan?
Pick one focus per term from your review and treat the first day of the next term as a fresh start. Jobulary's guide to using the fresh-start effect to reset a goal is a short, practical read on why that timing helps.
How much does The Teacher's Classroom Year System cost?
₹1,299 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $34 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can I get a refund?
Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
