The Customer Loyalty Programme Kit · Bodhih Pro Kits · 233 by Bodhih Training, trainers to 2,000+ companies since 2008.
How do I start a customer loyalty programme for a small shop or chain?
Fix the basics first, pick a programme type that suits your purchase cycle, set earn and burn rules, then calculate the break-even uplift: the extra member sales needed to pay for rewards and running costs. The Customer Loyalty Programme Kit from Bodhih Training gives you the workbook, calculator, scripts and forms to do each step.

You already feel the problem. Here is what it is costing you.
A stamp card nobody measures
Paper cards have sat on the counter for years. You do not know how many free items you give away, who uses them or whether they bring anyone back.
Rewards that cost more than they earn
Rewards are paid on everything members buy, including what they would have bought anyway. Without the break-even uplift, a generous programme can quietly eat the margin.
Sign-ups that stall or feel pushy
Staff either forget to ask or ask too hard. Consent boxes get ticked for customers, and your list fills with people who never agreed to hear from you.
Results that look better than they are
Members out-spend non-members because your best customers join first. Without a fair comparison you cannot tell what the programme actually changed.
Franchise arguments about who pays
Points earned in one store are redeemed in another. Without a written settlement rule, every month ends in a debate.
Picture the next few weeks with the kit open beside you.
Imagine opening the Loyalty Programme Workbook on the first Monday of the month and seeing, on one screen, how many members are active, how many came back twice, what the rewards cost and whether the uplift is still above break-even.
As you type your own numbers into the calculator, you will notice the moment the design clicks: a first reward members reach in a few visits, a give-back you can afford and a break-even uplift that looks realistic for your customers.
When your team uses the two-line ask from the till card, sign-ups come from friendly, consistent conversations, and the coaching card helps the quieter members of the team find their own words. Marketing consent stays a genuine choice.
And at your first quarterly review, you will compare members with a fair comparison group, decide which campaigns to keep, and change anything that needs changing with notice and care. Whether you start with the calculator tonight or the design worksheet tomorrow morning, the first hour is mapped out for you.

The customers who join first are usually your best ones. They visit more and spend more already; that is why they said yes. Comparing members with non-members after launch mostly measures who joined, not what the programme did. Researchers call this self-selection. A fairer test compares change, not levels: how much did members' spending change from before they joined to after, and how much did a comparison group's spending change over the same months? The difference between those two changes is your measured uplift. Statisticians call this kind of before-and-after comparison against a comparison group a difference-in-differences. It takes a little more work than the obvious comparison, but it answers the question you actually care about: did the programme change what people do? A before-and-after for members alone is not enough either, because seasons, prices and local events move everyone's spending.

The Customer Loyalty Programme Kit: FAQs
Read the free guideAlready bought? Resend my linkCan I use this with my staff?
Yes. Under the personal licence you can use the kit within your own business with your staff, including the briefing pack, till cards and coaching card. Company and multi-site licences, for example for a franchise network, are available via solutions@bodhih.com.
Does it work in my country?
The method works anywhere and the workbooks take any currency and tax rate. The dated rules sheet covers named countries as at October 2026, but marketing, data protection, consumer and franchise rules change and differ locally, so check your lawyer and local rules before launch.
How do I work out if a loyalty programme is worth it?
Calculate the break-even uplift: the extra member sales, beyond what members would buy anyway, needed to pay for rewards on all member sales plus running costs. The calculator does this from your margin, reward value, breakage and costs, and the workbook compares it with the uplift you measure after launch.
Should I use a stamp card or points?
A stamp card is simple and cheap to run but usually gives more away per unit spent, is easy to fake and tells you nothing about customers. Points need a POS link, app or wallet pass but give you data and better control. The Stamp vs Points sheet compares both on your numbers.
How do I measure whether my loyalty programme is working?
Do not compare members with non-members after launch: your best customers join first. Compare how members' spending changed from before to after joining with how a comparison group changed over the same months. The Member vs Non-member sheet does the arithmetic.
Is this legal or financial advice?
No. The kit is educational. The terms and privacy notice are discussion drafts for your lawyer, and the treatment of unredeemed points is a question for your accountant. Check your local rules before you rely on any wording.
Does the kit promise more sales or repeat visits?
No. It helps you design, cost and measure a programme properly so you can see what it really does. Results depend on your product, service, customers and market.
Does it cover franchise networks?
Yes. Chapter 9, the Franchise Settlement sheet and the Franchisee Programme Guide Template cover what is standard and local, who funds rewards, member data access, reporting and settlement. Franchise agreements differ by country: check a franchise lawyer.
How can I measure my starting point?
If you want to measure your team's starting point, AssessAll offers related assessments sold separately: Retail Counter Selling - Situational Judgement, Personal Data Judgment and Commercial Judgment & Market Sense. They suit store staff who ask customers to join, people who handle member data and managers who own the programme's numbers.
How do I turn this into a development plan?
Use the kit's 30/60/90 day plan for the programme. For a personal goal plan you will actually follow through on, Jobulary explains the WOOP method for professional goals at jobulary.com.
How much does The Customer Loyalty Programme Kit cost?
₹999 including 18% GST for buyers in India, or $29 for buyers outside India. One-time payment, no subscription, with an automatic invoice.
How do I get the files after paying?
Instantly. Your download page opens the moment payment succeeds, and a permanent download link is emailed to you. Download each file separately or everything in one ZIP.
What software do I need?
Any of the usual tools: Excel or Google Sheets for spreadsheets, Word or Google Docs for templates, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, Xodo or GoodNotes for the fillable PDFs, and Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar for the calendar plan.
Can I get a refund?
Because it is a digital download, kits are not refundable once downloaded. We always refund a duplicate charge or a failed delivery, and if a file is corrupted and we cannot fix it within 3 working days. Full terms: bodhih.org/refunds.
Can my company buy this for a team?
Yes. Team and company licences, and workshops on this topic run by Bodhih Training, are available. Write to solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11601.
